The Road to CMO
There is no single path to becoming a CMO.
Every leader arrives with a different combination of experiences, challenges, opportunities, and ambitions. Yet the leaders who thrive in the role often share something deeper: a commitment to continuously expanding how they think, how they lead, and how they serve others.
The Road to CMO, hosted by Nadine Dietz and Gary Vaynerchuk, brings together senior marketing executives preparing for that next chapter alongside a select group of CMOs who've made the climb and are ready to talk about it honestly.
Together, they’ll explore the moments, decisions, relationships, and leadership experiences that shaped them, and the lessons that continue to guide them today. At the heart of the afternoon is a simple question: Who do you need to become before you step into the CMO role?
Grounded in Virtuosi League’s Six Pillars of Leadership, the experience combines candid leadership stories with thoughtful peer discussion to explore the capabilities that help leaders earn trust, navigate complexity, build enduring organizations, and create sustainable growth.
Participants will hear honest reflections from accomplished CMOs, exchange perspectives with peers facing many of the same questions and leave with greater clarity about the leader they are becoming.
The Experience
Stand & Deliver: Seasoned CMOs. Candid leadership stories, first-hand.
Hear candid reflections from CMOs who've done the job, including Antonio Lucio, Chief Marketing and Corporate Affairs Officer at PayPal and Carla Hassan, Global Chief Marketing Officer at JPMorgan Chase.
Leadership Lab
Participants will join table discussions to exchange perspectives, challenge assumptions, and contribute to a collective leadership playbook drawn from the wisdom of both accomplished CMOs and rising leaders.
Cocktails + Light Bites
The afternoon closes with cocktails and open networking, a chance to continue the conversation, meet fellow attendees, and build relationships with the CMOs and peers in the room.
